Living A Hope Filled Life

A Hair Care Journey & Thensome
Dry White or Grey Hair

I have spent my entire life disappointed with my hair. It is thin yet average fullness, which to me sounds like a joke a half. When I hit my teen years and found myself with spending money I went to the mother of a classmate who owned a beauty shop which was within the family home in the basement. Gosh! I was imprssed by her and the single parent home where she was there for the children and still made a living. I took the experience with me as I grew into adulthood. I appreciate a family whom can survive disfunction with a clear plan. Doubtful she ever reads this although I hope they are all doing well.

So, I headed straight to the beauty shop for my appointed time, magazine in hand to have her make my milk chocolate brunette locks a loose curly bob like the model. My life was changed, it wasn’t quite what I hoped although it changed the physical appearance of my hair from the root throughout. Dark Medium Brown with a natural wave to it that gave my hair more character than the flat pin straight hair I began with. I went with and without a permanent wave for many years; $40 going up to $100 over the next 20 years had a quite a bit to do with it.

Today I am back to a more straight look with color processed Platinum Blonde Tresses are so my WISDOM WHITE isn’t so unflattering to my Medium Cool complexion. I do miss my brunette strands, I’ll always be the girl next door & it made me feel perfectly average. Some thing average isn’t a good thing, I do because it means we are the very similar to the next door or a few more over. We can be groped into a segment of the population with a shade of hair making us more available, I think a true blonde is an overwhelmed person when the world thinks you are the apple of the eye only because you are a blonde. The Cindy Crawford, Julia Robert’s (I know—RED), Selma Hayek, Jennifer Garner, etc. are no less beguiling than Pink, Gwen Stefani, which shade is the Kim K this week? Happy Healthy Women of the shade of the lovely lady club…

With the driness of the aging hair I have been severely disappointed in my appearance. It is just not possible to get the “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” vibes when I look at myself with a dab of makeup or a jeans & t-shirt day, you know how I feel? I will doubt I will be the one whom are at the beginning of something trend setting but th au natural fiends & masculine feminism don’t supply I with an ounce of regret, the more natural base of the products we use, such as those from food to toiletries is worth checking into with a reality check for a bookmark. Not all the good things in life are free or made only by nature. Find a balance or a self adjusting moderatiowhich affords you a choice in not over doing it or all of it at any given time.

The dry hair will be a time honored tradition which I will pass on to our children as they age, hopefully they will accept my try’s & my errors with the grace & wisdom of people taught to think about the issue not the plight of every sad sack person or animal and let I be the matriarch of the fam with a happy heart.

IK, IKM BOTTOM LINE…DOUBLE CONDITIONING IS MY TRADE SECRET!
Can you double condition on a budget or use something from the kitchen? Yes then NO! Kitchen ingredients do not qualify as a hair oil or moisture. Keep an eye out for the follow ups on what I have found about keeping a simple process can do wonders for your hair. Yes! Men can do it as well as everyone with dry hair, we can all benefit from the sad tale of wail & woe of the lass & the lad from the Scot(re by way of their American upbringing & heritage.

Have a Beautiful Rest of Your Day! ~CVH
